Hajj Kay 5 Din | Hajj Ka Tariqa | The 5 Days of Hajj |

The 5 Days of Hajj  Method:

Which is the first?

 The 8th, then the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th.

You need to remember these five days:

8th Dhul-Hijjah, 9th Dhul-Hijjah, 10th Dhul-Hijjah, 11th Dhul-Hijjah, and 12th Dhul-Hijjah.

Day 1: 8th Dhul-Hijjah – Stay in Mina

The 8th Dhul-Hijjah is to be spent in Mina.

We will offer five prayers there.

It is Sunnah to offer five prayers in Mina.

The first prayer will be Dhuhr.

Which one will we pray first?

Then Asr, then Maghrib, then Isha, and then Fajr.

Day 2:

 9th Dhul-Hijjah – Arafat Day

We will perform the Fajr prayer.

What date will it be?

9th Dhul-Hijjah

 the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah…

It’s the most important day of Hajj.

If someone asks, “What day is Hajj on?”

It’s on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah.

Remember this:

Which day is the Hajj day? 9th Dhul-Hijjah.

Importance of Arafat

This is the standing in Arafat.

It is the main pillar of Hajj.

You may call it the most important pillar.

There are three obligations (faraiz) of Hajj:

Wearing Ihram, making intention, and

Tawaf-e-Ziyarah, but the main pillar is

Wuquf-e-Arafat (standing in Arafat).

This is the most important day.

You must spend the 9th Dhul-Hijjah in Arafat.

Timing of Wuquf-e-Arafat

Now, when you reach Arafat on the 9th Dhul-Hijjah,

the time of Wuquf begins

when the time for Dhuhr starts.

As soon as the Dhuhr time starts,

all the people present in Arafat with the intention of Hajj

officially become Hajjis.

Do Not Leave Before Sunset

You cannot leave Arafat before sunset.

Only after the sun sets and Maghrib time starts

are you allowed to leave.

Whoever leaves before that will have to offer a sacrifice.

Remember to pray Dhuhr at its time,

Asr at its time,

whether individually in your tents or in congregation.

Worship and make dua (supplication).

Do not leave Arafat before sunset.

Night After Arafat:

Journey to Muzdalifah

After sunset, you will leave for Muzdalifah.

When you reach Muzdalifah, witness Allah’s greatness.

Even though Maghrib time has come in Arafat,

you are not allowed to pray Maghrib there.

Combined Prayers at Muzdalifah

At Muzdalifah, you will pray Maghrib and Isha.

But only after Isha time begins.

That is, once Isha time starts,

you will offer Maghrib and Isha together.

The method is:

First pray the Fard (obligatory) of Maghrib,

then Fard of Isha,

then Maghrib’s Sunnah and Nafl,

followed by Isha’s Sunnah and Witr.

Day 3:

10th Dhul-Hijjah – Eid and Main Rituals

This is the night of the 10th Dhul-Hijjah.

The morning will be the 10th Dhul-Hijjah.

You will spend the night in Muzdalifah,

worship during the night,

and be present there at the time of Fajr prayer.

Morning of Eid

The time of Muzdalifah’s Wuquf

starts at Fajr time.

Now it's morning.

Which morning is it?

What date is it?

The 10th of Dhul-Hijjah.

In Pakistan, what is this day?

Which Eid is it?

Eid-ul-Adha.

The Hajji’s Eid

Look how wonderfully a Hajji celebrates Eid.

People wear nice clothes,

put on perfume, and go around greeting each other.

The Hajji’s Ihram is dusty,

his hair is disheveled,

his eyes tired from lack of sleep.

What kind of Eid is this?

By Allah, this is the best Eid in the world.

Because Allah loves this humble, dusty Hajji.

Three Rituals on the 10th

Today is Eid day.

The Hajji has to perform three rituals.

These three acts must be done in sequence.

Remember this:

1. Rami – Stoning the Devil

What does the Hajji do first?

He performs Rami (stoning).

What is Rami?

Throwing stones at the devil the big devil.

Only one Jamrah (pillar) is targeted on this day.

Throw seven pebbles at it.

2. Qurbani – Sacrifice

After Rami, what does the Hajji do?

Qurbani (sacrifice).

Once Rami is done,

tell the person doing the sacrifice,

and it will be done.

3. Halq or Qasr  Haircut

After the sacrifice, the Hajji

must shave his head (Halq),

or trim it (Qasr).

Now he is free from the state of Ihram.

Free From Ihram

How many days in Ihram?

Two and a quarter days.

Ihram was worn on the 8th,

and now on the 10th, he’s done.

So, no more tension.

All restrictions of Ihram are lifted.

Apply perfume,

wear sewn clothe senjoy!

Only one restriction remains

the one between husband and wife.

That will also end after Tawaf-e-Ziyarah.

Tawaf-e-Ziyarah and Final Steps

So, no stress over Ihram

It’s just two and a half days.

In just over two days,

you’re almost done with Ihram.

Major Obligation

One major obligation remains:

Tawaf-e-Ziyarah.

It’s called Tawaf-e-Ziyarah,

but it also has seven rounds like regular Tawaf.

It’s more enjoyable

because now you're in normal clothes,

not in Ihram.

You’ll perform it peacefully in your own dress.

Sa’ee  Walking Between Safa and Marwa

Then comes another obligation

the Sa’ee of Hajj.

You must perform both

Tawaf-e-Ziyarah and Sa’ee.

Timing of Tawaf-e-Ziyarah

You can do Tawaf-e-Ziyarah on the 10th,

or on the 11th,

but it must be done before sunset on the 12th.

Any time before Maghrib on the third day of Eid.

Sa’ee Flexibility

The Sa’ee that follows Tawaf-e-Ziyarah

can be done at any time.

But it’s better to do it along with Tawaf-e-Ziyarah

so that the whole ritual is completed together.

Day 4 & 5:

11th & 12th Dhul-Hijjah – Final Rami

Now, on the 11th and 12th of Dhul-Hijjah,

you have two more tasks:

Rami of the Jamarat.

Stoning All Three Pillars

You will throw pebbles at all three devils.

Seven pebbles at each devil.

So, when you do this to three devils,

Twenty-one pebbles on the 11th,

and twenty-one on the 12th.

Timing for Rami

When does Rami start on these days?

As soon as the time for Dhuhr begins,

Rami time starts.

You may perform Rami any time

from after Dhuhr till the next day before Fajr.

So, the five days of Hajj are complete.

Now remember them yourself and teach them to other pilgrims too.
