When the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw the lifespans of the previous nations, some of whom lived a thousand years, some more, the thought came to the blessed heart of the beloved of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that the lifespans of my nation must be very short, so how can they do such long good deeds? Then Allah Almighty granted Laylatul Qadr again.
It is as if a person who does good deeds in this one night is better than not a thousand days, but a thousand months. In a thousand instants, your good deeds last for a thousand months. What a great excellence! My Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would draw special attention, would draw special attention to this night.
And when does this night occur? It is in the authentic hadith, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to look for it in the last ten days of Ramadan. It is as if these five nights are: twenty-one, twenty-three, twenty-five, twenty-seven, and twenty-nine, look for this night in these nights.
On this night, the angels of Allah descend, angels descend from the heavens to the earth, and Hazrat Jibril Amin (peace be upon him) brings them. And what do the angels do? The servant who is present in the remembrance of Allah on this night, the servant who is present in the remembrance of Allah Almighty, the servant who is present in the presence of Allah Almighty on this day in any way, the angels also pray for his forgiveness and also ask for mercy from the Lord.
And in one tradition, we also find that the angels also shake hands with him, shake hands. Look how blessed it is that a person is worshipping and the angels come to visit him. Our Sufis say that if you make a definite program of worship, the angels will visit you many times.
And then another thing is very noteworthy here that when a person feels that something is watching him, his style of worship also changes a little. So if we have this mind that angels are watching us, and that creature is watching us who will take our diary directly and present it to our Lord, then we should be a little more attentive. We should be more enthusiastic, that will be lost.
Okay, we are also weak, we have some worries inside us, we also have diseases, we are also thin, weakness also comes, fatigue also comes to us, but long is not a word. Five are just a few nights! Hazrat Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) says that when the last ten days of Ramadan began, the Holy Prophet used to tighten his belt for worship, he himself would also get up at night, he would also wake us up, because these are not days of sleep, these are days of wakefulness.
In the dark nights of Sawan, when it rains, he gets up and cries at night when all creation sleeps, this is the glory of the servants of the Lord. And anyway, Dervish says:
"The night has come, and the pain-free sleep is sweet,
The pain-loving ones are awakened by the remembrance of the tormented."
So this is a special time, and at this special time, one must pay attention to this. And what was said that the angels descend, "by the permission of their Lord for every matter," meaning they come by the command of Allah, and for every work, for every good life.
In this too, the commentators have written that they will decide for you the whole year what you will be given, what you will receive from Allah Almighty. So what this means is that then it is the night of receiving. It is not that the angels have come, with this message of grace from the Lord that there is to be given and the recipients are sleeping, they are at rest.
So remember, charity comes into the cup of the one whose cup is straight, and if the cup is not straight, then charity does not come into the cup again. So then it was said to him that this is the night of peace.
Our commentators have written that on this night, Satan is imprisoned in this way, on this night even the soul of the servant does not bother him. These nights of waiting are so beautiful that if a servant praises Allah a little, then Allah gives his heart a place for worship, he gets peace, then it becomes cool, and he worships Allah with great pleasure. Show great awareness on these nights!
نبی پاک صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے جب پرانی امتوں کی عمریں دیکھیں، کسی کی ہزار سال ہوئی، کسی کی اس سے زیادہ، تو اللہ کے محبوب علیہ السلام کے دل مبارک میں یہ خیال آیا کہ میری امت کی عمریں تو بڑی تھوڑی ہوں گی، تو کیسے اتنی لمبی نیکیاں کر سکیں گے؟ تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے پھر لیلتہ القدر عطا فرمائی۔
گویا اس ایک رات میں جو آدمی نیکی کرے، ایک ہزار دن نہیں، بلکہ ایک ہزار مہینے سے افضل ہے۔ ایک ہزار یک دم آپ کی نیکیوں کی عمر ایک ہزار ماہ تک چلی جاتی ہے۔ کتنی بڑی فضیلت کی بات ہے! میرے رسول کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم خاص توجہ دلاتے، اس رات کے حوالے سے خاص توجہ دلاتے۔
اور یہ رات کب ہوتی ہے؟ صحیح حدیث میں موجود ہے، نبی پاک صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اسے رمضان کے آخری عشرے میں تلاش کرو۔ گویا یہ جو پانچ تاک راتیں ہیں: اکیس، تئیس، پچیس، ستائیس، اور انتیس میں، ان تاک راتوں میں اس رات کو تلاش کرو۔
اس رات اللہ کے فرشتے نازل ہوتے، آسمان دنیا پر زمین پر فرشتے اترتے، حضرت جبریل امین علیہ السلام انہیں لے کر آتے ہیں۔ اور فرشتے کیا کرتے ہیں؟ جو بندہ اس رات اللہ کی یاد میں موجود ہو، جو بندہ اللہ تعالیٰ کے ذکر میں موجود ہو، جو بندہ اس دن اللہ تعالیٰ کی بارگاہ میں کسی بھی طور پر حاضر ہو، فرشتے اس کے لئے دعائے مغفرت بھی کرتے ہیں اور رب کی بارگاہ میں التجائے رحمت بھی کرتے ہیں۔
اور ایک روایت میں ہمیں یوں بھی ملتا ہے کہ فرشتے اسے مصافحہ بھی کرتے ہیں، ہاتھ بھی ملاتے ہیں۔ دیکھیں نہ کتنی سعادت مندی ہے کہ انسان عبادت کر رہا ہو اور فرشتے اس کی زیارت کو آئیں۔ ہمارے صوفیاء فرماتے ہیں کہ تو پکا پروگرام بنا لے عبادت کا، فرشتے کئی بار تیری زیارت کو آیا کریں گے۔
اور پھر ایک اور بات یہاں بڑی قابل توجہ ہے کہ انسان جب محسوس کرتا ہے کہ مجھے کچھ دیکھ رہا ہے، تو اس کی عبادت کا انداز بھی تھوڑا تبدیل ہو جاتا ہے۔ تو اگر یہ ذہن ہو ہمارا کہ ہمیں فرشتے دیکھ رہے ہیں، اور وہ والی مخلوق دیکھ رہی ہے جو ہماری ڈائری ڈائریکٹ لے جا کے ہمارے رب کی بارگاہ میں پیش کرے، تو پھر کچھ زیادہ ہی توجہ ہونی چاہیے۔ زیادہ ہی انہماک ہونا چاہیے، وہ کھو جائے۔
ٹھیک ہے، ہم کمزور بھی ہیں، ہمارے اندر کچھ پریشانیاں بھی ہیں، ہماری بیماریاں بھی ہیں، ہم لاغر بھی ہیں، ضعف بھی آ جاتا ہے، تھکاوٹ بھی ہمیں آ لیتی ہے، لیکن لمبی تو بات ہی کوئی نہیں۔ پانچ تو تاک راتیں ہیں! حضرت سیدہ عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ تعالی عنہا ارشاد فرماتی ہیں کہ جب رمضان کا آخری عشرہ شروع ہوتا تھا، تو نبی پاک اپنی کمر کس لیتے تھے عبادت کے لیے، خود بھی رات کو اٹھتے تھے، ہمیں بھی جگاتے تھے، کیونکہ سونے کے دن تو نہیں ہیں، یہ تو جاگنے کے دن ہیں۔
ساون کی کالی راتوں میں جب بوندہ باندی ہوتی ہے، وہ راتوں کو اٹھ اٹھ روتے ہیں جب خلقت ساری سوتی ہے، یہ رب کے بندوں کی شان ہے۔ اور ویسے بھی درویش کہتے ہیں:
تو یہ وقت خاص ہے، اس خاص وقت میں اس بات کی طرف ضرور توجہ کرنی چاہیے۔ اور یہ جو کہا گیا کہ فرشتے نازل ہوتے ہیں، "بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٍ" یعنی اللہ کے حکم سے آتے ہیں، اور ہر کام کے لئے، ہر عمرِ خیر کے لئے آتے ہیں۔
اس میں بھی مفسرین نے لکھا ہے کہ وہ تمہارے لئے پورے سال کا فیصلہ کریں گے کہ تمہیں کیا دیا جائے گا، تم کیا حاصل کرو گے اللہ تعالیٰ کی بارگاہ سے۔ تو اس کا مطلب یہ ہوا کہ پھر تو یہ لینے کی رات ہے۔ ایسا نہ ہو کہ فرشتے آئے ہوں، رب کی بارگاہ سے یہ پیغامِ کرم ہو کہ دینا ہے اور لینے والے سو رہے ہوں، وہ آرام میں ہوں۔
تو یاد رکھیں، خیرات اسی کے پیالے میں آتی ہے جس کا پیالہ سیدھا ہوتا ہے، اور اگر پیالہ سیدھا نہ ہو، تو خیرات پھر پیالے میں نہیں آیا کرتی۔ تو پھر اس کو کہا گیا کہ یہ سلامتی والی رات ہے۔
ہمارے مفسرین نے لکھا ہے کہ اس رات شیطان تو ایسے ہی قید ہوتا ہے، اس رات بندے کا نفس بھی اسے تنگ نہیں کرتا۔ یہ تاک راتیں اتنی حسین ہیں کہ تھوڑی سی بندہ حمد کرے تو اللہ عبادت کے لیے اس کے دل کو قرار عطا کر دیتا ہے، اسے سکون ملتا ہے، تب یہ ٹھنڈی ہو جاتی ہے، اور وہ بڑے ذوق کے ساتھ اللہ کی عبادت کرتا ہے۔ خوب بیداری کا مظاہرہ کریں تاک راتوں میں!
